Lesbia Rosas Fernandez

Lesbia Rosas Fernandez passed away peacefully at Southeast Health on February 13, 2026, at the age of 86. Born on January 20, 1940, in the Republic of Panama, she was a woman whose presence was characterized by remarkable warmth and whose days were spent nurturing the lives of everyone around her.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date in her hometown of Panama at a later date.

Lesbia was preceded in death by her parents, Ruben Rosas and Petra Maria Herrera, husband, Luis Raul Fernandez and son in law Alberto Asyn. She is survived by her daughters, Carmen Chandler (Martin) and Helena Fernandez; her son, Luis Enrique Fernandez; Grandchildren, Luis Alberto Asyn, Amanda Kirchen, Luis Guillermo Fernandez and Sofia Fernandez

To say that Lesbia loved her family would be an understatement; they were the center of her universe. She demonstrated this love daily through her celebrated cooking. Evenings spent in her kitchen were filled with the aromas of traditional recipes handed down through generations, laughter, and the sharing of stories — all ingredients of the wonderful feasts she lovingly prepared. Her culinary talent was not just a hobby but a means of bringing her family together, an expression of love that will linger in the hearts and palates of those fortunate enough to enjoy it.

Described by all who knew her as loving and kind, Lesbia’s life was a testament to these virtues. Her friends and family recall countless acts of kindness, moments of selfless caregiving, and an unwavering commitment to putting the needs of others before her own. She approached life with a gentle touch and a steadfast resolve to spread warmth and affection — a mission she accomplished daily without exception.

She gave her family faith in God and the strength to do the right thing. Her children were taught Jesus Christ is in control of everything and will supply their needs.

As we say farewell to this remarkable woman, we do so with immense gratitude for the love and light she brought into this world.
