Martha Denny Obituary

Mrs. Martha Denny of Dothan gained her wings on November 1, 2021.

Funeral services will be held at 1 P.M. Friday, November 5, 2021 at Ward Wilson Funeral Home with Reverend Keith Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Post Oak Baptist Church Cemetery in Ozark with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, November 5, 2021, one hour prior to the service.

Martha was born September 24, 1946, in Hartford, Alabama to the late Jesse Marvin (Bud) Peters and Velma Hudspeth Peters. She grew up in Hartford and later moved to Slocomb where she raised her 3 daughters. She made many friends in Slocomb.

She then met the love of her life Charles Prescott and moved to Ozark. Martha and Charles were members of Post Oak Baptist Church where they were very active in many church activities. The loved and ministered to the children. Martha also worked for the Dale County School System.

She cared for Charles after he became ill with cancer until his death.

She eventually moved to Dothan to be close to her family. She retired from the school system and became active with Love in Action Ministry, feeding the homeless and sharing the word of God. This is where she met Rick Denny whom she later married.

She loved spending time with family and friends. It brought her great joy to hold her great-grandchildren. Family was so very important to her.

She is preceded in death by her husbands, Charles L. Prescott, Rick Denny, and her granddaughter, Kayla Eubanks.

Survivors include her 3 daughters, Tonya Sieg, Starla McLaney, Sherri (Scott) Metcalf, grandchildren, Jared Holman, Matthew Sieg, Tiffany Sieg, Matthew Sieg, Ashley Marsh, Nikki Morgan, Kaley (Josh) Adams, Jessica (Cody) Spann, Jacob Metcalf, Tyler Metcalf, numerous great-grandchildren, sisters, Twila Merideth, Patricia (Larry) Johnson, Charlene Peters, brothers, Marvin (Margie) Peters, Jerry Peters, and numerous nieces and nephews.
