Martha Hall Obituary

Mrs. Martha Sue Branton Hall was born to Jesse and Lorene Branton on February 2, 1934, in Houston County, Alabama. She graduated from Baker High School in Columbus, Georgia, and married her husband Quillian Hall at Hamp Stevens Methodist Church on Easter Sunday, April 5, 1953. Mrs. Hall and her husband moved to Albany, Georgia in 1955 where she taught Sunday school, Girls Auxiliary, and served as the pianist for Mercedes Baptist Church for 28 years. She taught piano lessons there and in her home. She served the church for 45 years.

In 2001 Mrs. Hall and her husband moved to Dothan, Alabama, where they lived for 23 years. Mrs. Hall taught a ladies Bible class at Ridgecrest Baptist Church for many years.

She was the co-founder of The Joyful Refuge Ministry non- profit organization along with her life-long friend, Mrs. Glenda Wood and Mrs. JoAnn Parker. Mrs. Hall served as President from June 1, 2001 until October 1, 2021.

Mrs. Hall was a sweet Christian servant of God, kindhearted, humble, wise, creative, and a gifted Bible teacher. She was also a selfless, beautiful woman of strong faith, integrity, and compassion. She was devoted to serving God, the church and was a strong prayer warrior for her family and friends. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She enriched and touched the lives of so many people.

Mrs. Hall was preceded by her husband of 63 years, Quillian Hall, her nieces, Kim and Melody Branton; her granddaughter Shelley Jones, and parents, Jesse and Lorene Branton.

She is survived by her brother, Billy Mac Branton, daughters Susan Hall Rudd, (Michael, Sr.), Cynthia Hall Mitchell, (Ron), Melanie Hall Fowler (David); and her beloved grandchildren: Jennifer Rudd Mobley, (Terry), Michelle Rudd Johnson, Michael Rudd, Jr. (Danielle), Jeff Potter, Brandon Jones (Kim), David Quillian Boswell, (Winn), and Justin Boswell (Samantha).  She is survived by her great-grandchildren, Amber Lyne Doyal (Gil),  Chelsea Hunn (Kyle), Cody Vogeler, Katelyn Vogeler, Olivia, Gage, Luke and Kayla Jones, Hunter Rudd (Halley), Christal Rudd, Caitlin Potter, Addison Potter and Logan Potter, Waylon and Townes Boswell and great-great grandsons:  Jaxson and Leland Doyal, Dawson and Bryson Hunn, and her beloved dog Fox.  She was blessed with family and so many friends who will cherish her precious memory forever!

Funeral services will be held at 2 PM, Friday, January 17, 2025 from Ridgecrest Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 PM until 2 PM, prior to the service at Ridgecrest Baptist Church.

Serving as active pallbearers will be Michael Rudd, Brandon Jones, Jeffrey Potter, David Boswell, Justin Boswell, and Hunter Rudd.
