Marvin L. Smith, age 69, of Dothan, Alabama, passed away on October 13, 2025. He was born on June 17, 1956, in Matthews, Missouri, to the late William Leslie Smith and Alice Louise (King) Smith.
Marvin was known for his sense of humor and love of all things Snoopy. A devoted husband, he was a loving caretaker to his wife, Dixie, and a man whose dedication and work ethic defined him. Marvin was a hard worker throughout his life and took great pride in providing for his wife and two dogs- Bo and Luke.
He cherished spending time with his loved ones and was especially proud of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his loving wife, Dixie Darlene Smith; three daughters, Stephanie Taylor, Johnna Shanks, and Carrie Fodge; grandchildren Melanie Robinson, Austin Fodge, Garrett Taylor, Zachary Fodge, Jonathan Shanks, Jordan Taylor, Jessica Shanks, and Jacob Shanks; and great-grandchildren Charlee Robinson, Archer Robinson, Weston Fodge, and Ali Robinson.
Marvin is also survived by his sisters Ruth Ann Boyles, Stella Louise Copeland, and Penny Lois Wheeler, along with many beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Clifford Edward William Smith, Robert Eugene Smith, Rickey Smith, Ruby Alberta Edgar, and Helen Loretta Wheeler.
Marvin’s warmth, laughter, strength, and devotion to his family will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
