Mary Joyce (Williamson) Davis

Mary Joyce Davis, 86, a resident of Dothan, passed away on Tuesday, July 19, 2022, at Flowers Hospital. She was born on November 16, 1935, to the late King Williamson and Louise (Gardner) Williamson.

A graveside service will be 1 PM, Friday, July 22, 2022, at Memory Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12 Noon until service time at Ward Wilson Funeral Home.

Mary Joyce was a loving wife, mother, and a caregiver to many people over the years. She was a Christian lady and a faithful longtime member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church. Mary and her husband enjoyed traveling, especially going to the mountains, and taking fishing trips. She retired as a court specialist and was a member of the Alabama Retired State Employee Association.

Survivors include her loving husband of 66 years, Emory “Max” Davis, children, Patsy Davis, and Greg Davis (Christina Johnson), sister in law, Josephine Davis and 3 nieces, Debbie Fortune (Dale), Judy Blackmon (Jimmie) Marsha Chamlies (Charles) and several beloved cousins and relatives.   

The family would like to say thank you to Rhonda Clark and Judy Strickland for being wonderful caregivers to our mother. Dr. Ivan Douglas Jackson and his staff for their compassionate care. A special acknowledgment to family friends Lynne and Jennifer Jordan for their love and friendship.
