Mollie Reynolds Obituary

Mrs. Mollie Melton Reynolds, age 73, of Webb, passed away Thursday, April 20, 2023 at home surrounded by her family.

Mollie was born on April 16, 1950, to Deacon Joseph Melton and Sister Lila Rushing Melton in Gordon, AL. She received her formal education through the Columbia High, AL Public School System and attended Wallace College and graduated from Michigan Cosmetology College and licensed in the State of Michigan and Alabama. On September 28th, 1986, she was united in Holy Matrimony to Mr. James Reynolds and to this union they were blessed with twins, Ms. Frances Reynolds & Mr. Franklin Reynolds. She was also blessed with six bonus children.

Mother Reynolds accepted Christ as her Savior with Greater Antioch Baptist Church of Gordon, AL and later joined New Freedom Church in Webb, AL, where she was a faithful member and loved the Lord.  Mrs. Reynolds was Treasurer of Bertha “B” Chapter #249 and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Gordon, AL. Mrs. Reynolds was also a Co-owner of Francis & Mollie’s Beauty Salon & Stylist, Dothan AL.

She was a humble, loving woman that had a special touch and a gift of lifting you up in your moment of feeling displaced. She wanted her family, friends, and customers to look good and dress respectably. Mollie (aka Moil) was a devoted wife and mother to her family, living an exemplary life imparting the lesson of compassion, love, responsibility, and hard work to her children.

On Thursday Afternoon 20th of April, the Lord called her from labor to reward. She is now reunited with her loving parents Mr. Joseph Melton and Mrs. Lila Mae Rushing Melton, her loving brother Mr. Joe Melton, and son Mr. James Anthony Reynolds.

Sister Reynolds is survived by her loving husband Mr. James Reynolds; one daughter, Ms. Frances Reynolds (Henry Devose); and one son Mr. Franklin (Marshae) Reynolds; four bonus daughters: Mrs. Regina (Rudy) Engram, Mrs. Jacqutta (Ruben, Deceased) Engram, Ms. Jeanora Reynolds, and Mrs. Latisha (Wardell) Edwards; one bonus son, Jeffrey (Shamyra) Anderson; beloved Sisters, Nancy Melton Hollis, and Mrs. Mattie (Hayward) Teague; loving Brothers Rev. Ervin (Machelle) Melton, Mr. James Melton, Mr. John Melton, Mr. Alvin (Ollie) Melton, Willie (Glenda) Melton and Elder Matthews (Kimberly) Melton; two Aunts, Clay Ann Kelley and Ellen Graham; one Uncle Charles Melton; five Sisters-in-law, Mrs. Mary Jordan, Mrs. Jacqueline McGhee, Mrs. Linda (Jack) West, Mrs. Janice (John) Wright and Mrs. Elaine Melton; two Brothers-in-law, Mr. Bennie (Marian) Holloway and Mr. Clarence Tucker; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren & a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, April 29, 2023 at New Freedom Church in Webb.  Burial will follow in Greater Antioch Cemetery in Gordon. The family will receive friends from 4 PM until 6 PM, Friday, April 28, 2023 at Ward Wilson Funeral Home.
