Norman Corbett Boggs, Sr., a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on January 2, 2024, at the age of 89 in Dothan, Alabama. Born on October 16, 1934, in Jenkins, Kentucky, Norman was a man of honor, integrity, and love for his family and country.
Norman's life was marked by his unwavering commitment to his beloved wife, Sylvia Boggs, with whom he shared 66 years of marriage filled with mutual respect and adoration. Together, they raised a family that includes their sons, Norman Corbett Boggs, Jr., and Michael Boggs, their daughter, Terry Boggs, and a legacy of numerous grandchildren and several great-grandchildren who will forever cherish his memory.
A proud veteran, Norman dedicated 25 years of service to the United States Navy, where he exemplified courage and dedication. His service to his country was a significant part of his life, and the values he upheld during his military career continued to guide him in his personal life.
Norman's passion for the outdoors was evident to all who knew him. He found solace in woodworking, creating pieces that reflected his attention to detail and patience. Fishing and travelling took him to many places, but his favorite destination was always wherever his family was gathered.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM, Monday, January 8, 2023 at Ward Wilson Funeral Home with burial following at Gardens of Memory Cemetery with full military honors. The family will receive friends from 1 PM until 2 PM, Monday, January 8, 2023 prior to the service at Ward Wilson Funeral Home.
