Olivia Edwards passed away peacefully at Extendicare in Dothan on November 6, 2023. It was her 93rd birthday.
Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Friday, November 10, 2023 at Ward Wilson Funeral Home with Brother Darren Henry officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, November 10, 2023, one hour prior to the service.
She was born on November 6, 1930, in Cottonwood, Alabama and was a longtime resident of Ozark, Alabama. She was married to Tyler Edwards where they owned Tyler’s Office Supplies, Inc. for sseveral years, after which they moved back to Dothan. Throughout her life, she was known for her beautiful flowers and gardens, and her kind nature in her later years which had neighbors’ children often visiting “Miss Olivia” for a popsicle on a summer day. Olivia was the daughter of Lee and Birtie Cameron.
She was preceded in death by her late husband, Tyler Edwards; sisters, Mary Evelyn Cameron, Bobby Roney, and Rudean Newton; and her brother, Hayward Cameron; along with a much loved nephew, Wayne Henry; and several nieces and nephews.
She is survived by her daughters, Debbie Teague and Lisa Edwards; her grandchildren, Brian Teague, Heather Teague Hall, Jay Motes (Amy), and Deana Motes; her great-grandchildren, Cassie Edwards (Seth), Maddie Hall, Allie Hall, Cody Baltes, Peyton Motes, Annie Hurlstone, and Phoebe Hurlstone.
The family would like to thank Dr. Walter J. Doty, III, for his excellent and loving care of her over the decades, and also the staff of Extendicare Health Center for their care, concern, and kindness.
