Otis Duong

Mr. Otis Duong, 89, of Dothan, passed away Wednesday, February 20, 2019.

Otis was born May 1, 1929 in Rach Gia, Vietnam. Otis and his family were refugees of the Vietnam War. Together with his wife, Qua, they fled their home country bound for America with nothing but their children and each other, including a 3 month old baby. Otis married his wife, soulmate, and partner in life, Qua Thi Truong in 1963. For the next 54 years, they instilled the values and culture they left behind to their children and taught them how to be kind and selfless sons and daughters. By 1981 Qua and Otis would be proud parents to seven children, four daughters and three sons. The fruits of their sacrifices are their children and everything they are and everything they have today is because of the courageous parents they were lucky to have.

Otis is survived by his seven children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held on Sunday, February 24, 2019 from 12:30 PM until 1:30 PM at Ward Wilson Funeral Home and he will be laid to rest at 2:00 PM in Memory Hill Cemetery.
