Valeta Pearl Exum of Cottonwood, Al. passed away Wednesday, March 4, 2026, in Graceville, Fl.
Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Friday, March 6, 2026, at Harpers Joy Assembly of God Church with Reverend Eddie Littlefield officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.
The family will receive friends at the church from 1 to 2 P.M. Friday, March 6, 2026, one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Harpers Joy Assembly of God Church.
Pearl was born December 17, 1934, in Houston County, Alabama, to the late Marvin B. Moss and Tommie Duke Moss.
She was a faithful member of Harpers Joy Assembly of God Church for many years. She married Woodford Woodie Exum on September 23, 1950.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Woodford Woodie Exum, brothers, Earl Moss (Bit), John C. Moss (Jean), Buford Moss (Shirley), and a daughter-in-law, Debbie Exum.
She is survived by a son, James Woodie Exum, daughter Ann Booth (J. Carter “Alf”), sister-in-law, Shirley Moss, grandchildren, Brandon Exum (Denise), Garrett Exum (Crystal), Lisa Hornsby (Tony), Wendy Kirkland, special adopted granddaughter, Haley Wiggins, six great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers will be: Brandon Exum, Garrett Exum, Evan Exum, Tony Hornsby, Jake Hornsby, and Garret Taunton.
