Peggy Lowman Obituary

Peggy Jean Lowman, age 84, was peacefully taken home to be with the Lord on July 6, 2026. Born on December 26, 1941, in Pansey, Alabama, she lived a life defined by love, faith, and an unwavering devotion to her family.

Funeral services for Mrs. Peggy will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at Ward Wilson Funeral Home with Dr. Ricky Plummer officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until the start of the service.

Peggy was a beacon of joy to everyone who knew her. Known for her caring heart, quick wit, and a smile that could light up any room, she made the world a brighter place just by being in it. While she was a dedicated mother and a beloved friend, her favorite title by far was "Mimi"—a name affectionately used not just by her family, but by nearly everyone who knew her.

Her passions were a reflection of her generous spirit. Peggy spent many years sharing her faith and guidance as a Sunday school teacher. She loved baking delicious treats for her loved ones and was a passionate sports fan, most notably cheering on her beloved Alabama football team.

She is survived by her loving children, her son, Brian K. Lowman (Kelley), and her daughter, Carma Bedsole (Donnie); her dear niece, Peggy Lynn; and her cherished grandchildren: Brian C. Lowman (Kirsten), Lauren Finn, Ashleigh Schlachter (A.J.), Kirsten Farmer (Ben), Paxton Lowman, Payton Baxley (Devan), Jessie Ishee (Ryan), Devon Dean, Brittney Lewis (John), and Jordan Ordis (Thomas). Mimi's legacy of love also lives on through her 20 adored great-grandchildren.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, Arter Carlton Harper and Velma Powell Harper; her beloved husband, Dennis Keith Lowman; her brother, Louie Harper; and her precious granddaughter, Logan Finn.

Mimi's warmth, humor, and big heart will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on forever in the hearts of those she loved so well.
