Roy Durrell Henderson, Sr.

Mr. Roy Durrell Henderson, Sr., age 77, of Webb, passed away Saturday, May 21, 2022.

Born April 23, 1945 in Kinsey, Alabama to the late Cecil and Alice McArdle Henderson, Roy had a hard work ethic, working from sunup to sundown. He loved animals, especially birds such as quail, pigeons, ducks, geese, partridges, and chukars. He also had a green thumb, enjoying gardening and growing crops. Roy retired after 33 years working as a supervisor at Twitchell.

In addition to his parents, Roy is preceded in death by his brothers, Shelly Henderson, Billy Earl Henderson, and J. C. Henderson; and a special friend and mother of his children, Myra Henderson.

He is survived by his son, Roy “Doss” Henderson, Jr. (Kim); his daughter, Dorlisa Henderson (Todd Holt); his grandchildren, Presley, Parker, Aaron (Langley), Ross (Krista), Curtis, and Cody; his great-grandchildren, Gracie, Avery, and Hunter; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends; and his fur baby, Chase.

Funeral services will be held at 6 PM, Monday, May 23, 2022 at Ward Wilson Funeral Home with Dr. Ricky Plummer officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 PM until 6 PM, prior to the service. A private burial will follow at a later date.

The family will be meeting at the home of his son, 2883 S County Road 55, Ashford, AL, Sunday, May 22, 2022 at Noon.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are being accepted to assist the family with funeral expenses.
