Sharon McNally Obituary

Sharon Kay McNally was a caring and doting wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She passed on from this world peacefully, embraced by family, at her home in Dothan, AL. on March 14th, 2024, after a prolonged battle with extended illness at the age of 69.

She was born in the mountains of Tennessee on May 4th, 1954, to parents Mary Lillian Ramsay and Harold Stinson. She was the only sister to a troop of six brothers. She grew up in Anniston, AL., where she spoke fondly, with excitement, for the shenanigans spent with best friends in her formative years, then again with purpose and accomplishment for her work experience as a respiratory therapist. It was there, in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, that she met and married the enduring love of her life, Jeff McNally, in April of 1981. They were married just a month shy of 43 years loved and had one daughter, Kerri McNally.

Jeff and Sharon relocated to Dothan, AL. in their early thirties, where she worked for Wiregrass Pharmacy as a Medical Equipment Specialist, working primarily with breast cancer survivors and fitting for their sensitive prostheses. She used her joyful personality and inviting spirit to uplift, inspire, and restore the vigor to keep fighting and deflated morale within these women. Sharon extended that praise, comfort, moral support, and endearing love to all of her closest friends and acquaintances alike. She gave those parts of herself freely to every person she met, touching many with her kind heart and sweet spirit. Sharon was described by some “as the best person they knew.”

After retirement in 2003, Sharon dedicated herself to her family, doting happily on her grandson, Jacob, and her granddaughter, Alexis, whom she admittedly spoiled both rotten. She especially enjoyed cooking and baking for others, particularly her family, who cherished taking nourishment from her fabulous homemade meals and treats. Sharon was passionate about gardening, too. She loved God and loved to praise God, giving gratitude and all the glory to Him while praying for others every day.

Sharon brought joy and laughter to everyone she knew with her jovial personality and dynamic storytelling. She could have you on the edge of your seat, waiting for what comes next while recounting all the colorful tales of her past with a zestful enthusiasm and flamboyance for vivid details. Sharon’s laugh was described as infectious and electrifying in nature. One could not help but feel her light and sincerity, thus sparking a joy genuinely felt within our hearts. That light and the love of Sharon will live on eternally throughout every one of us.

Sharon is preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Jerry, Larry, and Chuck, and survived by her husband, Jeff; daughter, Kerri; grandson, Jacob, and granddaughter, Alexis; by her brothers, Gary Stinson, Mark Stinson, and Randall Stinson, and many nieces and nephews.
