Sylvia Helen (Grimes) Harrison

Mrs. Sylvia Helen Harrison, age 85, of Dothan, passed away Thursday, November 10, 2022.

Born August 22, 1937 in Coffee County, Alabama to the late James C. Grimes and Mary Vincent Grimes, Sylvia was an avid golfer, seamstress, and gardener. She was also an excellent cook with family having fond memories of her cornbread dressing, chocolate cake, and homemade cookies for her grandchildren during the holidays. She loved her family and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Sylvia is preceded in death by her husband, John R. Harrison.

Survivors include her daughters, Debbie Dobbs (Jack) and Becky Carter; her son, Ben Harrison (Rhonda); her grandchildren, Jason Dobbs (Jennifer), Jacquelyn Arcellana (Joel), John David Dobbs (Ashley), Julie Dobbs, Harrison Guest, Caitlyn Albert (Jack), Jake Johnston, Zach Johnston, Mary Kathryn Harrison and Samuel Harrison; 13 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be held at 2 PM, Sunday, November 13, 2022 at Bethlehem Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, 2616 County Road 70, Malvern, Alabama with Pastor Randy Greene of Abbeville Methodist Church officiating.
