Terry Norman Bowden

Mr. Terry Norman Bowden, age 87, of Newton, passed away Tuesday, August 15, 2023.

Born May 27, 1936 in Wicksburg, Alabama to the late Henry Ray Bowden and Rebecca Virginia Gilley Flowers, Terry lived in the Wiregrass area the majority of his life. He served his country in the United States Air Force and retired from civil service. He also enjoyed yard work and sports. In his retirement years he could be seen most days in his yard, with water hose in hand, tending his lawn. He especially loved football and closely followed the Wicksburg Panthers.

Terry is preceded in death by his father, Henry Ray Bowden; his mother, Rebecca Virginia Flowers; his step-father, Bully Flowers; and his brother, Bobby Bowden.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Wells Bowden; his son, Keith Bowden (Kim); his daughter, Teresa Sarbeck (Steve); his grandchildren, Kane Norman Bowden, Whitney Noel Adams, Lindsay Shivar, and Abigail Pierri; his great-grandchildren, Nicholas Tyler Bowden, Chloe Noel Adams, Roman Charles Alexander Hale, Jonah Shivar, Molly Shivar, and Josie Shivar; his sister, Neva Watson (Joe); several nieces, nephew, other relatives and friends.

A private graveside will be held for the family.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Wicksburg Fire and Rescue, 5340 Judge Logue Road, Newton, AL  36352.
