Mrs. Thelma Roe Cofer, age 94, of Dothan, passed away Thursday, January 7, 2021 at Extendicare.
Born September 5, 1926 in Clark County, Alabama to the late George Isaiah Roe and Caldonia Leona Crenshaw Roe, Thelma was a member of Pathway Baptist Church. She graduated from Coffeeville High School and later Samford University. She taught for 30 years in the Mobile County School System and after retirement, she went on to have a career as a real estate agent.
In addition to her parents, Thelma was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse W. Cofer; and her siblings, Wilder Roe, Eunice Roe Anderson, Bess Roe Anderson, Chuck Roe, Irene Roe Counselman, Aubrey Roe, Inez Roe Paul, Doris Roe Bradford, and Jim Roe.
Thelma is survived by her son, David Cofer (Brenda); her grandchildren, Amy Kelly (Christopher), Erin Knight (Lane), Hayley Drinkard (Bobby Jon), all of Pike Road, AL; her great-grandchildren, Brenyn Kelly, Caroline Kelly, Evie Knight, Kate Knight, Vivian Drinkard, and Drew Drinkard.
Funeral services will be held at 1 PM, Sunday, January 10, 2021 from the Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Tim Willis officiating. Burial will be held at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens at a later date.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 PM until 1 PM, prior to the service.
