Vera Jeanette Fowler

Mrs. Vera Jeanette Fowler, age 100, passed away at Westside Terrace, May 23, 2021.

Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at Ward Wilson Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 to 2 P.M. Wednesday, one hour prior to the service.

She was widowed at 37. She lovingly raised 3 children. Mrs. Fowler was a passionate gardener, an avid fisherman, and seamstress. She was talented with many crafts. She had a great sense of humor and loved her family and friends. She was a longtime member of Ridgecrest Baptists Church. She was a wonderful southern cook with an award winning pound cake.

She was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband, Clifton Fowler, parents, Robert and Lucy Smith, brothers, Colly and Ralph Smith, and sister-in-law, Fran Smith.

She is survived by son Steve Fowler (Jan), daughters, Jean Day (David), and Jane Fuller (Eric), grandchildren, Ryan and Clay Fowler, Jennifer (Trent) Roberts, Andrew Day, Gabe (Tori) Browning, Lindsay (Chris) Morgan, 6 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
