Walter H. Caldwell

On Thursday, May 4, 2023, Walter Hamilton Caldwell, loving husband, father, and papa, passed away at the age of 66.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2 P.M. Sunday, May 7, 2023 at Ward Wilson Funeral Home with Reverend Chris Cable officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 to 2 P.M. Sunday, one hour prior to the service.

Walt was born on October 26, 1956 in Dothan, Al to John and Barbara Caldwell. He completed high school at Dothan High and went on to become an Electro Mechanical Engineer at Michelin Tire Corporation for almost 40 years.

On December 2, 1985 he married the love of his life, Connie. Together they raised their two beautiful daughters, Jennifer and Mandy.

Walt had a passion for working on and tinkering with anything he could. He could fix literally anything, and if he couldn’t his motto was, “get the hammer!” He made sure that both of his girls knew how to take care of themselves. When they left home they knew how to change their oil, change a tire, and take care of their cars.

His favorite hobbies were camping, fishing, going on cruises, and spending time with his grandkids. Although, his favorite past time was doting on his wife. Walt was known for his quick wit, loving smile, and compassionate spirit.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and the love of his life, Connie.

He is survived by two daughters Jennifer McNamara (Rob) of Cottonwood, AL, Mandy Jones (Joshua) of Tallassee, AL, brothers Tom Caldwell (Peggy) of Panama City, FL, Mark Caldwell of Enterprise, AL, and grandchildren Kayla (11), Jocelyn (9), Eli (7), and Hannah (6).
