Willa C. Storey, a beacon of gentle kindness and thoughtfulness, passed away peacefully on November 12, 2024, in her hometown of Dothan, Alabama, at the age of 87. Born on February 22, 1937, to Grady and Maggie Medley, Willa's life was a testament to love, dedication, and the simple joys that make a life well-lived.
Willa's journey through life was marked by her commitment to her work, having contributed her talents to both Sony and Dillard's. Her work ethic and involvement in her community were only outshined by her warm spirit and the care she showed to those around her.
A woman of many interests, Willa found pleasure in the simple things: savoring boiled peanuts, indulging in her weekly dining out tradition with her cherished friend Deborah Johnson, tending to her garden, planting flowers that would bloom with as much vibrancy as her personality, and unwinding with episodes of "The Young & Restless" or getting lost in a good book.
Willa's legacy is carried on by her very special and dear friend of over 40 years, Deborah Johnson, who stood by her through thick and thin. She was preceded in death by her loving parents, her daughter, Debbie McAfee, and her granddaughter, Jennifer Hall.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Wesley Place and DaySpring Hospice for their compassionate care during Willa's final days. Willa C. Storey will be deeply missed, yet her gentle soul will continue to inspire all who knew her.
