Sergeant First Class William C. Tallant of Dothan passed away Saturday, September 10, 2022, at the age of 66.
William was born on January 13, 1956, to the late William Tallant and Billie Myrick Tallant. William dedicated 22 years to the U. S. Army, where he also served with the Army Judge Advocate General's Corps (JAG). In 1985, William married the love of his life, Lisa, and together they raised three hardworking and loving children. During William’s military career, he spent time working at the Pentagon and 10 years working with the Veterans Administration. He was a decorated Veteran that received awards such as, the Bronze Star Medal, Army Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal, South West Asia Service with Bronze Medal, Joint Service Achievement Medal, Service in Saudi Arabia, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal, and many others. William was the first DJ for Club La Vela in Panama City, FL. He enjoyed spending time at Lake Martin with his family, golfing, history buff, and playing guitar.
In addition to his parents, William is preceded in death by his brothers, Mike Tallant, Steve Barkley, and Greg Barkley; sister, Trufonda Finsterbush; and his stepfather, Stanley Barkley.
Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Lisa Tallant; sons, Jason Foster, Jarod Foster (Jennifer), and Justin Tallant; 10 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; several nephews and nieces; and best friends, Jack Webb and Kay Webb.
